Nextnation 1Q Net Profit Rises 27% to RM4.8 Million

KUALA LUMPUR, 26 September 2006 – Nextnation Communication Berhad (“Nextnation”) (MY: Mesdaq:NEXTNAT), a leading mobile multimedia Application Services Provider (“ASP”) today announces profits for the first quarter of its financial year.

Nextnation posted a 53.8% increase in its revenue and 27.0% in its net profit to RM23.5 million and RM4.8 million respectively for its first quarter ended 31 July 2006 compared to preceding year corresponding quarter.

Nextnation’s Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director Mr. Tey Por Yee said the encouraging solid performance indicates that the Group is on the right track with its growth strategy for the financial year 2007. The Group has successfully continued to improve and innovate on its products and services, resulting in higher demand from its customers and partners, as evidenced by the strong financial performance. On top of that, the successful replication of the Group’s business models in various overseas markets resulted the Group to create another new financial record for the Group.

Mr. Tey added that for the remaining financial year, the Group will continue to pursue its global footprint by tapping into global opportunities via expanding its operations in carefully selected overseas markets with superior growth prospects. He also revealed that among the countries that the Group is eyeing on are India and China, two of the largest mobile markets in the world. Mr. Tey remains confident and optimistic of the Group’s long-term prospect.

As at the date of this report, the Group has established direct connectivity with 28 operators from 8 countries across Asia, Europe and United States of America. The Group expects more revenue contributions from its new operations in overseas markets in the coming years.

The Group will also continue to focus on its research and development effort and diversify its revenue stream to cater to the fast growing trend of its customer base. As such, the Group is prepared to face any challenges that it may come across in order to become a successful international mobile ASP.
